- Abstaining from oils, dairy products etc. will lead to various deficiencies and diseases in the long run. Opt for olive oil as much as possible as it is good in omega 3 fatty acids and choose paneer over cheese always.
- Try and get some protein, Fat, carbs in all your meals.

3 Quick and Easy Weight Loss Recipes
Moong Dal – Oats Tikki
Ingredients:
Yellow moong dal 1/2 cup
Oats 1/2 cup
Fresh curd 2 tbsp
Onion ½ medium finely chopped
Green chilies 2 finely chopped
Chaat masala 2 tsp
Chili powder 2 tsp
Garam masala 1/4 tsp
Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp
Ginger-garlic paste
Finely chopped coriander
salt
Oil for greasing and cooking
Method:
1. Clean, wash and boil the yellow moong dal in 1 cup of water in a deep pan till the dal is soft and cooked and all the water has evaporated.
2. Drain and blend the dal in a mixer to a coarse paste.
3. Transfer the paste into a bowl, add all the remaining ingredients and mix well.
4. Divide the mixture into 12 equal portions and make round shaped tikkis.
5. Cook each tikki till they turn golden brown in colour from both the sides.
Serve immediately with healthy green chutney.
Moong Dal ki Chaat
Ingredients:
Yellow moong dal 1/2 cup
Carrot 1/2 cup grated
Pomegranate 1/2 cup
Raw mangoes 1/4 cup chopped
Mint leaves 2 tbsp finely chopped
Coriander 2 tbsp finely chopped
Black Pepper powder
1 tsp chaat masala
4 tsp lemon juice
salt
Method:
- Soak the dal for ½ an hour.
- Cook dal till it is ½ done. Each dal grain should be separate.
- Strain the dal and keep it aside for cooling
- Add the remaining ingredients and toss well.
- Serve immediately.
Lemon Coriander Soup for weight loss
Ingredients:
1 tbsp lemon juice
1/4 cup finely chopped coriander
2 tsp oil
Garlic 2 tsp finely chopped
Green chillies 2 tsp finely chopped
Onions 1/4 cup finely chopped
Cabbage 1/4 cup finely chopped
1/4 cup finely chopped carrots
3 cups basic vegetable stock
salt
2 tsp corn flour dissolved in 2 tbsp water
Method:
- Heat the oil in a deep non-stick pan; add garlic and green chillies and sauté on medium flame for a few seconds.
- Add onions and sauté for 1 to 2 minutes.
- Then, add cabbage and carrots and sauté for 1 minute.
- Add basic vegetable stock, lemon juice, salt and corn flour-water mixture, mix well and cook for 2 to 3 minutes, while stirring occasionally.
- Afterwards, add coriander and mix well.
- Serve immediately.
