Triund trek, Himachal Pradesh
If you are a beginner and doing your first snow trek then there is no better way to start than Triund near McLeodganj in Himachal Pradesh. The trek is simple and you get all the facilities like tents and food at the camping site. The trek starts from McLeodganj and is a 7km trek. Many people even complete it in a day while some prefer to stay at the camping site. The highlight of the trek is forest trails that you walk through and the Dhauladhar mountain ranges which are a beauty! As you reach up the Triund hill, you get to witness some beautiful skies in the evening. The view from the top is mesmerizing!

Prashar Lake Trek, Himachal Pradesh
Prashar Lake is at a distance of about 50kms from Mandi village. The trek can be done in summers too. But trekking through the white blanket of snow with the magnificent view of Pir Panjal and Dhauladhar ranges is a must-have experience! Prashar is a sacred lake with a temple located at a height of about 8,960 ft. The 7 km trek starts from Baggi Village with a small water stream coming down the hill. The surrounding scenery only gets better as you reach near the site. The night sky, white snow, and beautiful temple by the banks of the lake is a spectacular sight! To get more spellbound views, trek up to the highest point on the hill surrounding the lake. There are a couple of guest houses available here for stay. Do prebook them as they get filled during winters.

Bijli Mahadev, Himachal Pradesh:
The temple of Bijli Mahadev is one of the most sacred temple in Himachal Pradesh and is unique in its own way. Bijli or thunder strikes the Shiva Linga atleast once a year and it gets broken. Then the priests of the temple put it together using butter. Its an easy trek, where you walk through a thick blanket of Deodar forests on the backdrop of of snow clad mountains. As you reach the top, you can see the entire valley and the confluence of Beas and Parvati from Bijli Mahadev. You can sit for hours literally to enjoy this view! The beautiful architecture of the temple and the serenity on the top is yet another reason why people love to visit this place over and over again!
