My guide to ethnic wear
1. Sarees
I love wearing sarees – especially because the husbands become extra lattoo when you show off the extra long ear rings, bindi and chudi (blush..blush). Not to mention all your in laws who would be extra fida on the beautiful bahu!!!
Jokes apart but saree gives you an elegance unbeatable by any other kind of wardrobe. The variety, artwork, colours and flair of a saree makes it all the more attractive.
If you want to know different ways of draping sarees please read through our blog – Part 1 and Part 2!!
2. Lehenga choli
Lehenga Choli is another preferred ethnic wear chosen by many women. It is easier to carry as compared to a saree, but looks equally rich!! The best thing is saree or lehengas look great on anyone – may it be plump maasi or sweet chhotisi patlisi didi!!
3. Anarkali
Being said that one cannot always wear a saree or lehenga in the festive season, especially because it clashes with the monsoon season. The Anarkali punjabis come to our rescue.

Rocking colourful anarkalis with danglers and high heels just might steal your heart! This fashion style is adopted by many during festive season solely because it is easy and comfortable to wear!!
4. Palazzos and skirt
Sometimes dressing down makes more sense – probably because you might just want to stand out or set your own normal. Festive kurti with palazzos are in fashion these days. In case you are interested in trending fashion style, you can replace the palazzos by a long skirt too.
Wonderful cotton work, Kundan or embroidery or Worli designs on the kurti or skirt or palazzos will keep you selfie – ready anytime. Sport a bold neckpiece along with it (skip the danglers) and you might just be asked to walk the ramp!!
I agree that mostly our dressing style gels in with our family traditions. But remember do not hesitate to break the stereotype and try something new!! Here are some special fashion tips from our fashion bloggers to get you started!!
Happy festivities and ethnic wear!!
